Typhoon in Bend offers world class Thai cuisine

When Chef Bo Kline recently opened Typhoon! in Bend she already knew her world class Thai cuisine was relished in six carefully chosen locations throughout the Northwest. The newest Typhoon! is in the luxurious and newly remodeled Franklin Crossing Building in downtown Bend.  With wide acclaim in national magazine reviews the restaurants have found a loyal following by offering Mrs. Kline’s unique balance of salty, sweet and sour — and yes, even bitter tastes. She has a particularly deft hand with shrimp and fish, allowing the seafood’s delicate flavors to surmount ginger, garlic, basil, and some spices guests would only experience in her native Thailand. The menu ranges into a kaleidoscope of curries, inspired seafood dishes, and pungent Thai noodle dishes. Stratos Magazine wrote in a review, “Real Thai basil, proper Thai peppers and other ingredients raise the Thai food in the Northwest to a level diners enjoyed only in spots like London’s Blue Elephant, which many consider the best Thai food in the world.” Bo Kline also owns Bo Restobar which will open a restaurant next month in Bend. They are specialists at creating Pan Asian fusion foods with influences from Korea, China, Vietnam, and Thailand. For more information call 541-385-8885 or go to the Typhoon! Website.
